On November 28, 2024, Helsinki-based Afro-trap artist MUSH continues his groundbreaking journey with the release of D.O.G and No Blunder—two distinct tracks that push the boundaries of music and storytelling. Known for blending deep cultural narratives with contemporary trap sounds, MUSH once again delivers a sonic experience that empowers and inspires.
About the Tracks:
- -D.O.G: D.O.G is an unapologetic anthem of resilience, ambition, and divine alignment. The lyrics address the weight of his Sierra Leonean heritage, shaped by the aftermath of civil war. The track’s driving beats and intricate wordplay narrate a maze of hardships while celebrating the ability to rise above them with unrelenting energy. It’s a testament to self-belief, loyalty, and determination to thrive against all odds.
- -No Blunder: A hypnotic Afro-trap journey, No Blunder explores themes of independence, clarity, and rejecting societal pitfalls. MUSH’s lines like “Ion need nobody to stay high, Ion need no Molly to stay high” deliver a powerful statement of self-reliance. The track critiques a culture distracted by material excess, urging listeners to stay grounded and avoid the pitfalls of life (”224, we don’t want no blunder”). The rhythmic interplay of bold declarations and melodic hooks makes this track both a banger and a reflective piece on modern life.
- The tracks were created in collaboration with longtime partners Samondatrack (Production/Composer) Kaius Pekkanen (Guitar/Composer) and in the track No Blunder BackseatBaby(Production) ensuring a cohesive sound that bridges cultures and genres.
